Happy was first discovered in 2009 in a major airline's cargo bay 30,000 feet on a red-eye back from Las Vegas. Coming off a long flight, which was delayed for more then 2 hours, Happy was the first seen luggage tag coming off the baggage carousel in Newark. It was an eye opening experience. It was also the first piece of luggage removed from the carousel as its owner walked off with a big smile, while the rest of us were stuck trying to find out what piece of luggage belonged to us.

We marveled at how fast that passenger was in and out, but very frustrated for the rest of us who had to wait forever to get our luggage. My friends and I gave up looking for our luggage and ran after Happy, we wanted to know more... and the rest is history.
